stop + -ing or stop + to-infinitive?

 

 

 

PRESENTATION


 

You can follow some verbs with the -ing form or to-infinitive, but there is a difference in meaning.

 

We’ve just stopped to have something to eat. = We were driving. We wanted something to eat. We stopped driving.
She’s stopped feeling sick. = She felt sick. Then she go better. She doesn’t feel sick now.
