Sense verb + adjective

 

There are two faces in this picture. Which face can you see?
She looks young. She looks old.

You often use an adjective after these verbs: look, sound, feel, smell, taste.

She looks young. He sounds unhappy.

This feels really soft.

This air smells really fresh.

This soup tastes awful.

 

 

TIP
Don’t use an adverb after these verbs.
Say She looks beautiful. (don’t say She looks beautifully.)
