Some nouns are countable: оnе egg, two eggs, three eggs …
Some nouns are uncountable: bread, milk, sugar …
Use some in affirmative statements …

  • with plural countable nouns: There are some eggs.
  • with uncountable nouns: There is some bread.
Use аnу with countable and uncountable nouns …

  • in negative statements: There aren’t аnу eggs. There isn’t аnу bread.
  • in questions: Are there аnу eggs? Is there аnу bread?
